At eight o'clock in the morning, how cozy is that, we set off from home by bike. We met in Salvenach and then rode together to Gümmenen to the train station. From there we took the train to Bern and then continued to Romanshorn. In Bern, we treated ourselves to a coffee and got on the bike carriage.
We didn't get bored on the train. A couple told us that they were now going to ride their bikes from Zurich to South Tyrol for four weeks via the Ofen Pass. Just their bikes and their two bags, and they would see where they could stay each night.
We also had unintentional entertainment from a father with three children. He had realized that the tire of his rear wheel had no air. Well, he dismantled the tire, checked the tube, and found no holes. When he got off the train, the air dissipated again, and he thought, well, he would just use the spare tube. Good idea ;-)
We arrived in Romanshorn at 12 o'clock and set off right away. We had enough to eat on the train. But a coffee break was not far away. With sunshine and about 25 degrees Celsius, we took it easy and then rode the first stretch to Bregenz. A little over 40km, so quite pleasant.
We arrived around 5 pm and considered going to the campsite's own restaurant. To contemplate, we first fortified ourselves with a light blond drink and set up the tent. Then we agreed that the supermarket was only 5 minutes away and that a salad and some tuna and tomato pasta would be delicious. So we did just that, and by six o'clock, we could enjoy our dinner together. We could cook under a small shelter with benches and tables, and that's how we ended the evening.
