Day 02 - Kirkenes to Vardø

After checking the weather for the upcoming days today, we planned the following day trips. In the morning, a small event was initially on the program, but unfortunately the announced local did not show up. In the afternoon, after shopping, we headed towards Vardø. On the way, there was an impressive waterfall to admire. In the evening, we found accommodation in Vadsø before continuing to the absolute eastern end of Norway. When we arrived there, it was too late for a trip to the recommended bird island, but there was still much to see. First, we visited a Thai restaurant, whose host is a big fan of German beer and football. He may support the wrong team 😉, but he was very funny and entertaining. Later in the evening, we visited the northern tip of Vardø, where we saw a very atmospheric memorial to the witch burnings in Finnmark, a great sculpture, and a branched bunker system.
