Cape Egmont Lighthouse - Ōakura - Paritutu Rock - Holly Hut Track

I continued along the Surf Highway towards Egmont National Park. Occasionally, I drove to the coast, for example, at Cape Egmont Lighthouse or in Ōakura, and enjoyed the views. Both of the sea and Mount Egmont.

The viewpoint Paritutu Rock is just before New Plymouth and is actually located on a rock. It took me 15 minutes to climb up, and sometimes I had to pull myself up using a steel cable. But at the top, I had a fantastic view.

Finally, I drove to the North Visitor Center of Egmont National Park and took a short hike on the Holly Hut Track from there. Unfortunately, Mount Egmont was hidden in the clouds the whole time and only revealed itself shortly after sunset. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring better weather!
