Introduction

Hi,

So... First of all, why did I start this blog and why is it called like that.

I created this blog because I am going to Japan for a voluntary social year. To Kutchan in Hokkaido, to be exact, and I will be working in a kindergarten there. To keep my friends and family up to date, I will try to write new posts from time to time. About the places I will visit, about the people I will meet, and above all about the experiences I will make.

Actually, I wanted to write the title of my blog in Japanese, but the website didn't allow that (just like spaces -.-).

ブログの夢 - Burogu no yume. Translated it means something like Blog of Dreams. I found the title appropriate because I always wanted to go to Japan. In March, I was already in Japan for a month, but it didn't even come close to getting to know Japan properly. At that time, I was in Fukuoka and did a four-week language course.

During my time in Kutchan, I will be living with a host family and thus experience a completely new experience. In addition, Kutchan has only 15,000 inhabitants and is therefore in a very rural area of Japan. I hope that this will allow me to experience many of the old traditions and a completely different part of Japanese culture.

So. I hope I can tell you a lot of new and interesting things about Japan. Maybe also some rules of behavior or important vocabulary from time to time.
