Day 15: At Allianz in Berlin

My third week on the tour begins. For breakfast, not only scrambled eggs and bacon, but also baked beans. I have liked them since Interrail times, I have been to the island twice, all the way up to the Orkneys. A few years later, with my wife (still the same!) and a car. So the day can only be good with baked beans!

I set off in good time. It takes me half an hour by bike from the hotel to Adlershof, it is noticeably cooler, but (still) dry. Most of the time there are bike paths available. What fascinates me are signs for right or left turns, with their own traffic light. In the beginning, it's confusing because they are red when I have green. But they are on the other side of the street...

I am warmly welcomed again by the site management and the two works council members (the others have all flown away). New ideas for promotion are being born, very creative... I can raise €350 in bar donations, plus additional amounts via PayPal and from a location-specific campaign. There were very nice moments again when 'old companions' appear. Here, too, many wishes accompany me for the campaign and for early retirement.

I ride back to the hotel in light drizzle. The question is sauna or city. Because it's getting gloomier all the time, the answer is quickly found: sauna! It just feels good...

Before that, a few impressions of the Estrel Hotel, a giant building with its own show stage. I would love to go again in connection with a performance!

I allow myself to mention the donations again. I cycle for the Allianz Foundation for Children, which doubles my collected donations and passes them on to the 'Tour der Hoffnung' campaign for a specific purpose. The 'TdH' supports children with cancer. So it's for a good cause. Thank you very much to everyone who donates!
