Yesterday we were walking around Chisinau. First we went to the 'Valea Morilor' Park. There is a beautiful city park with a lake between embassies and the university. Anglers were standing on the shore of the lake trying their luck. Many cuddling couples could be seen on the benches in the park, something you don't see in the city. There, people seem distant and you hardly see couples holding hands. A great atmosphere with many young people. From there, we went to the city center to the 'Gradina Publica', the central park. There were many playgrounds for children, small snack stands and drink sellers. Here I drank my first freshly tapped 'Kvas', a bread drink that tastes like malt beer, very delicious. We then went to a flea market at the 'Arcul de triumf'. There were wood carvings, old Soviet militaria, and souvenirs. On the way back, we went to eat. Once again, very affordable and traditional. The specialty was self-brewed beer. For me, a highlight as it can compete in taste with any craft beer, unfortunately, the waiter could not tell me which hops they use for brewing. A really great day that makes you want more.
