The day after we reach Brisbane. There we spend our time only to put ourselves and our laundry back into a clean condition and to restock our supplies. Since our flight to Singapore goes from Brisbane, we will pass by here anyway and decide to continue to the even warmer North. In the evening we arrive at a free campground. It is already dark and Claudi thinks she has seen Niko's van. We traveled together with him for 2 days on the Great Ocean Road. After we parked our car, we check if it really is Niko. Indeed, the van looks familiar and when we see the slogan "Dogs have masters, cats have staff" at the back, we are sure it's him. We spend the rest of the evening updating each other on the current situation and introducing Sebastian, his travelmate he picked up in Sydney.

Early in the morning we head to the nearby market. For the size of the place, it is really huge. There, of course, all kinds of homemade, useful, useless and food are offered. Then we drive together to Noosa, located north of the Sunshine Coast. First, we visit a lookout point, which offers a magnificent view of the lagoon. Enchanted by the view, we also drive directly to the beach and spend the afternoon there.

Since the Champions League final takes place at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday and Niko is a big Madrid fan, we drive to a campground near a McDonalds. We hope to be able to use the WiFi there to stream the game. The evening is spent with the four of us sitting in our freshly cleaned car, having a few beers and wine. No more than 5 hours later, the alarm clock rings and we drive to McDonalds. Claudi and Sebastian, who are less interested in the final, stay in the car and sleep. Madrid wins and the day starts off great for Niko, who is now ready for anything with a broad smile.

Since we have booked a tour to Fraser Island for tomorrow, we drive to Rainbow Beach. There we will be picked up to start the tour. To sweeten the waiting time a bit, we each borrow a surfboard and plunge into the waves. Although it had little to do with actual surfing and we had to accept some collateral damage to the boards, we almost caught a few waves and we all had a lot of fun. Now we knew even more how to appreciate and respect the skills of the locals.

In the town there is a hostel where one can sleep in the car and use the facilities. We spend the evening again with the guys, as our paths (for now) diverge, as they have booked a 3-day tour.
