At 7:30am, we will be picked up by the 4WD/bus and after a short drive, we will take the ferry to the largest sand island in the world. We will drive along 75 Mile Beach.

We will stop at a shipwreck, the Pinnacles (discolored by iron), and a creek. The creeks on the island are so clear and silent that you would think they are invisible. On the way, we will see a dingo. They look like dogs but are actually an introduced wolf species from Asia that was brought in by the Aboriginies.

At some point, it starts to rain and we can see a beautiful rainbow. Then we walk through the rainforest for a while to the famous Lake MacKenzie, a lake fed only by rainwater in the middle of the sand island. After swimming in this wonderfully clear lake, we sit on the sugar-white beach for a moment. Then we have a BBQ and continue on to the subtropical rainforest. Later, we will take a walk through it.

The plants can grow well on the sandy soil as they are fed from an underground river system. We then drive back to the ferry, like driving on a bumpy road. We spend the night as usual at a free campground in our van.
