Paracas and Huacachina

Wow!
I can't keep up with reporting because I am experiencing so much in a short amount of time and all I want to do is sleep at night.
Yesterday, I took a boat from Paracas to the Ballestas Islands. For those who don't know, it's a more affordable version of the Galapagos Islands. There are thousands of birds, sea lions, and Humboldt penguins living there.
Shortly after, I visited the Natural Reserve in Paracas. It is one of the largest protected deserts in all of South America.
During the tour, I met Katja and Lisa from Germany. We will definitely meet again in Cusco, as they wanted to stay one more night in Paracas.
Right after the tour, I picked up my backpack and headed to Huacachina.
Huacachina is a small oasis in the middle of sand dunes.
After checking in and having a quick lunch, another activity was on the agenda. It was time for sand buggy riding and sandboarding.
It was absolutely amazing!
We went up and down the dunes, around 40 meters high (probably even higher), in the sand buggy like on a roller coaster.
In between, we had a short photo break before finally getting to sandboard.
Since none of us were professionals, we all had to lie on a snowboard or sandboard and then go down the dunes head first. Luckily, our driver picked us up at the bottom and we didn't have to walk back up the dunes 👌
As the crowning glory of the tour, we watched the sunset and took some beautiful pictures.
After an exhausting day, I just wanted to shower (the sand was really everywhere 🙆‍♀️) and go to bed, because the next day we were already heading to Nazca.
