Monkey theater and rice farmers

The plan is to go to the Sacred Monkey Forest. And for that, we rented bicycles since we wanted to observe the traffic a bit first. Although we had already experienced a lot in Thailand, you never know. But to our delight, it is never as chaotic here as it was in the past few days, so we decided to rent a scooter occasionally in the next few days.

In the Monkey Forest. Got 2 tickets and went to the theater. The monkeys didn't take long to show up because they are pretty much everywhere and they jump on people or steal candy from children's bags. What a spectacle. I had little sympathy for the people who were 'bothered' by the monkeys because I wouldn't want to be photographed in my living room or bedroom, and there were also enough signs indicating that you shouldn't have anything in your pockets that is food.

We took some photos and I briefly opened my backpack because I thought I was unobserved, but a young monkey quickly jumped over and wanted to put his hand in my backpack. Luckily, my girlfriend had a sharper eye than me and was able to warn me in time, and I closed it again. The monkey found me uninteresting again and went on his way. It's a very nice change from the city when you can wander here among your own kind through the trees.

After the Monkey Forest, we went to eat and then cycled to the homestay where we spent the evening on the terrace.

The next day we went to the Ricefield Walk. There we could watch the farmers work and enjoy a beautiful view. There are few houses between the rice fields, but the properties are always very nicely built, colorful, and really worth one or two pictures. It was slowly getting too hot for us, so we went to Ubud in the city and spent the rest of the day there.
