Day 17-20

ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ: 29.01.2023

The week here was really incredibly beautiful and I feel very comfortable here.

My tasks in the past few days were the K9 training (as in Naankuse), washing and brushing dogs and cats, feeding the animals on the farm (meerkats, dogs, cats, sheep, ...), but also feeding the big cats again. It's much more fun to do the tasks here and you're much more independent.

In addition, great things were done in the evenings with all the volunteers, such as a dinner with a bonfire in the bush (with stick bread and marshmallows🤤), a lion roar, where in the evening at sunset we went to an enclosure with the lions Maddox and Pax and listened to them roar to defend their territory, and on Saturday evening the Braai Night. But the Braai Night is not just about grilling here ... before that we had a little game where each group chose a song and then had to find objects on the farm to imitate the beat so that the others could guess it. We had "We will Rock you", which the others immediately recognized. After dinner, we danced around the fire together and all had a fake baby party with cake (don't ask me how that came about ... it was probably some joke that got blown up😅).

All in all, it's so much more pleasant with a smaller group (I think there are about 20 people here, in Naankuse there are about 50 or more) and so it's naturally possible to do such smaller group activities.

On Saturday we didn't have to work much, so we spent a lot of time at the pool, although I of course burned my back🥺 Today (Sunday) I have a completely free day, but I think it's better if I stay in the shade a bit ... I also have to pack because tomorrow we're going back to Naankuse (don't want to go back ...🥴).

P.S.: The highlight of the week was feeding a cheetah by hand and feeling its tongue😱🥳
