Finally, it's time for the first tour in Corsica, around Sisco and up to Monte Stello, still with a slightly swollen knee but it felt good on the test run at the campsite. The first tour is also, I think, a good "yardstick" for the future. Today I can expect a lot of altitude (about 1400m), up and down, at a technical level (up to S4). After all, this tour is one of the most demanding ones, whether it really is, I will only know in a few weeks.
The first meters went well on an asphalt road:
First obstacle: private property! I already know this from Mallorca and I'm not discouraged, especially because there is absolutely nothing going on here at the moment. The "green carpet" is simply everywhere, magnificent! It becomes more technical, especially because it has rained heavily in the past few weeks. There are several damages caused by "rivers" to be seen. Not far from Monte Stello anymore... ... ...view... ...towards... ...the northwest comes into view: The pleasant smell of various aromatic plants is often clouded by the natural fertilizer. But without it, it probably wouldn't be so green here... Let's go for the descent...! These creatures are really something. My forearms are covered in thorns...: I got to know them intensively in Tenerife as well. The last paragraph had about a 75% slope and I managed to master it without dismounting, it's working again... :-)! So, Finito for today! I'm pretty exhausted, but satisfied. After all, I rode about 90% and only had one fall, without much impact. If you like blocked technical trails with a lot of trial sections, you will enjoy it here.
