Day 7 (Sunday, July 14) - Greenwich Village - One World Trade Center & Ground Zero

After sleeping in, we decided to have a typical tourist day.

Greenwich Village is quiet and extremely empty on a Sunday afternoon, so we were able to stroll through the streets at a relaxed pace. We had an excellent brunch at the 'Wild' café-restaurant and then headed towards the One World Trade Center along the Hudson River Greenway. The Greenway is great for walking and offers occasional spots of shade. Sometimes you even come across size 52 boots and moth-Humphreys. Hopefully the transvestite didn't leave any other clothing items lying around...😳

Finally, we arrived at the One World Trade Center and visited the Ground Zero Memorial, which was naturally eerie. We returned to Chelsea by subway from the so-called 'Oculus' (the eye). This transportation hub is truly exceptional. Cool architecture... We still had a really delicious coffee and cake, despite feeling a bit tired, and decided to end the day at 'K-Chicken' in Chelsea, which is supposed to be famous for its chicken burgers. It was very good, but not all that extraordinary...
