After a not very spectacular week, my trip to Mexico with my host parents began. Thursday evening, right after school, I drove home so that we could leave soon after dinner. Nadia (host mother) was still working and Robert (host father) was busy packing. So we all ate separately and then left at 7 p.m. At that time, I still didn't know exactly where the trip was going. We still had Coco with us, so the first stop was at a relative's house to leave him there for the next few days. Then we continued driving to Nadia's sister's house. We also stayed there overnight.
The next day, we had breakfast together with Nadia's sister and her husband. With a delay of 1 1/2 hours, we set off from Corona. Until then, I didn't even know that the sister and her husband were also coming. So it was pretty cramped in the car, and as the smallest one, I naturally sat in the middle. The fact that the two sisters are from Morocco and spoke Arabic to each other didn't make it any better. For lunch, we had Mexican tacos in Rosarito, which were really good. After a short walk, we continued driving until we arrived at the house at 2 p.m. There, we settled in and rested. In the evening, we all went out to eat together.
On Saturday morning, we took a long walk on the beach. At noon, we drove to a nearby fish market, had lunch, and did some shopping. We spent the evening together by a bonfire.
On Sunday, we went for another walk on the beach. After that, we drove to Ensenada and visited some viewpoints there. After lunch, we visited a fish market again.
On Monday morning, we left after packing. After 3 hours of traffic at the border, we went to the next rest area to get lunch at The Habit. We arrived at Nadia's sister's house around 5 p.m. and went straight to pick up Coco. Another hour later, we arrived at another one of Nadia's sisters. We were supposed to have dinner with them, but since we were all still full from lunch, we only visited them briefly. The sister's husband could speak some German and took the opportunity to speak German with me. After about an hour, we continued driving. Carpinteria was about 2 hours away from there. When I got home, I quickly unpacked my things and then went straight to bed.
