Learning Hindi

Today was my third day. First, I went to Hindi class for the first time. Hindi is a strange language. It has only a limited number of words. That means that Indians often use English words when speaking Hindi. For me, learning Hindi is still very difficult. The Hindi class takes place with other exchange students. There are about 12 of them, many from France and Brazil. At my school, exams were held today, so I didn’t have to go to school. Then it was back to the Society.

The car ride back took 15 minutes. In the morning rush hour, it took 35 minutes. In the afternoon, I was supposed to bring something to the neighbors. Then it started to rain heavily. Therefore, we took shelter at the neighbors and were first served tea along with a selection of sweets and other snacks.

In the evening, I went to play soccer at the Society's field. Surprisingly, soccer is very popular here. After the soccer game in the evening, we had potato pancakes served in the typical metal bowls. Tomorrow is Gandhi's birthday, so everyone has the day off.
