Day 22: Gigen - Vardim

This morning we had breakfast at 6:30 a.m., I wanted to start a little earlier. Yesterday it was already very warm at lunchtime. Nadia made a great breakfast with sandwiches, eggs and a sweet treat, and there was fresh mint tea and coffee. By 7:45 a.m. I was already on the road. The path was really great today, parts of it were completely newly asphalted and there was hardly any traffic.

I listened to a lot of music and made phone calls to one or two people. The time and kilometers flew by and by lunchtime I had already done 70km. After the lunch break with pastries filled with feta and olives, there were a few meters of elevation to overcome, but luckily the road was mostly in the shade, so it wasn't too strenuous. In the early afternoon I checked by phone that the campsite I was aiming for was open and arrived there shortly before 4 p.m.

Now I'm waiting for the owner. The socks that didn't dry completely when I washed them in the sink yesterday are already hanging in the sun. This evening I'll have to cook for myself again, it looks like there are no restaurants in town. But I still have instant noodles and fried rice from a packet with me.

Time flies, in 3 days (according to plan) I will be leaving Bulgaria again and will be in my “destination country” Romania!
