After arriving in our cozy 'Pod' in Breakish on Skye yesterday, feeling pretty tired and quickly going shopping, we slept in today.
During breakfast, we were accompanied by 2 deer, strutting around in the garden right in front of us.
Feeling well-rested, we set off on our hike to the 'Old Man of Storr'. Today, we had typical Scottish summer weather again. Rain, sun, 16 degrees.
The hike to the Storr was an experience. It's only about 4km long, but steep all the way to the top. But the view makes up for the effort. It's amazing! When the weather cleared up (briefly), we had an incredible view. But at the top, the rain started pouring and visibility was almost zero.
Descending in the rain was alright, too.🙃
On the way back, we strolled through Portree, the 'capital' of Skye. Nice little town, but lots of tourists.
Dinner in the neighboring village and back to the cottage.
Tomorrow, we'll go hiking again and hope for deer at breakfast.🤔
Stay tuned!
