Day 34: Kangaroo Island - Stokes Bay & Flinders Chase National Park (Platypus Waterholes Walk, Admirals Arch, Remarkable Rocks)

ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ: 28.11.2016

We sleep well by the sea and wake up at 9:15 am. All the other camping neighbors are already gone or leaving. We have a leisurely breakfast and continue driving west to Flinders Chase National Park (on the way we see a mini porcupine).

Our first stop is the Visitor Center, where we book a night at Rocky River Camp and pay our national park fees. We drive to the campground. Then we walk back to the Visitor Center, where the walks into the area start. We decide to do the two-hour Platypus Waterholes Walk. A nice family walk suitable for strollers. Unfortunately, not many animals show up in the afternoon and we don't see a single platypus.

In the evening, we take a 15 km tour south to Admirals Arch - a sea cave. On the way from the parking lot (there is also a lighthouse) to the cave, we admire the roaring surf and a few sea lions frolicking on the rocks or in the water.

We then head to the Remarkable Rocks. Michi takes a first exploration tour with Samuel, while I cook our dinner with Maxima. We eat in the RV at the parking lot and then all set off together to the rocks to enjoy the sunset. Unfortunately, the sunny moments are short-lived. Some clouds have moved in and the evening sun disappears in the gray of the clouds before it sets.
