We spent 5 nights at Saša's in Pula, Croatia.
Saying goodbye was not easy for us because we quickly grew fond of the people and animals on Saša's 'farm'.
Anuuk from France and Pablo from Argentina are traveling with their Dachshund Elvis in a camper and making a long stop at Saša's place. Anuuk showed me 2 different ways to make Latin American bracelets, and in return, I taught her how to fold an origami crane. ;)
Martin and David from Poland are staying on the 'farm' for a longer period of time. Martin plans to build a vodka machine himself, and David takes care of the animals - both are very likeable.
Michael from France, a firefighter (only for 3 years, previously he traveled with his wife and two daughters in a carriage), invited us to visit him in the mountains in France with his goats.
Ralph from Holland and Julia from Russia met in India and are now a couple. They have made a list of places and things in India that they can recommend to us.
Saša (former CEO of an advertising agency) is a very dear, relaxed, and thoughtful person with an interesting view on the world and life. He owns a piece of land on which he has built a cabin, which is mostly made of scrap. Saša invites anyone who wants to settle on his property, grow vegetables together, and create a small community.
The time on the 'farm' was very relaxing. We helped out with dishwashing, collecting firewood, or digging up the garden beds. We took walks by the sea, walked the dogs, and spent time with the lovely people there. Occasionally, someone played chess. In the evenings, there was a lot of guitar playing, and after dinner, we watched a movie or played Werewolf (a social deduction game).
There are many animals on the farm, most of which actually belong to the animal shelter and are being adopted. Saša just provides them with a place to stay.
