.... to Padrón

What do pilgrims do in the evening?

Always the same ... washing clothes, washing themselves, and taking care of wounds.

Except for mosquito bites, we have nothing to take care of. No blisters have formed, and Astrid's legs look beautiful again - everything is healed!

After the washing ritual, we quickly went in search of food. We found a nice table with a view at the restaurant by the river where I had a good meal last year. Astrid counted 15 tables with pilgrims sitting at them. What would the city do without us?

We ordered the daily special, melon with ham, and then grilled chicken breast with fries. It was very delicious and made us happy ... and tired❗️

This morning, we were super well-rested. It was completely quiet. Astrid didn't even notice that she had lost an earplug - she had bought one at the pharmacy yesterday 😃

So we set off feeling fresh, and on the way, in Caldas de Reis (notice the foot bathtub), we had our first coffee in a fancy hotel.

As soon as we left the town, we ran into Nadine, who had found two victims to chat with again - we quickly got away!

We passed her quickly and walked along the country road - we could already see Claude and Therese from afar! We walked faster and faster!

The landscape was very diverse and we were making good progress. We even easily conquered some uphill stretches when we met the ladies from Berlin again. They didn't handle the mussels well yesterday.

Oh how terrible, we felt so sorry for them, but they bravely kept walking.

Along the way, we also encountered the Camino police again, this time with a "police dog" 😆

We saw many familiar groups and couples on the way, well, everyone is walking the same path, heading towards the same destination.

We also met a group of about 30 French seniors, sweating and groaning, with small children's backpacks - or men's handbags❗️

Constantly chattering loudly and clattering their sticks on the pavement, it was only natural to run away 😬

We made good progress and it was hot again when we arrived in Padrón. The group with the men's handbags was just unloading their large baggage in front of our hotel!

Padrón is an old, but unfortunately very lifeless city.
