To Ceduna

Today we reached the endpoint of our Eyre Peninsula tour. Ceduna is located in the far northwestern corner of the peninsula. After that comes the Nullarbor (a desert-like plain of immense proportions), which connects South Australia to Western Australia. How did we get here?

In the morning, we actually wanted to go to Point Labbat after completing the loop drive to observe Australian fur seals. However, the track down there is so rough that we are afraid our motorhome won't survive unscathed. So we turn back. Too bad. But not so bad, after all, we have had several opportunities to observe such animals on this trip.

On the way to Ceduna, we stop by Sceale Bay, Perlubie, Haslam, and Smoky Bay. The Surfers Beach at Sceale Bay is impressively spacious and, as usual here, deserted. It is completely different in Perlubie, where one caravan stands next to the other on the beach. The party is also going on at all the other campsites - the "gray nomads" (the travel-hungry retirees) like to invade this region at this time of year. We just managed to get a spot in Ceduna, outside the fence, without any amenities, in the dust!
