Breakfast by Lake Te Anau, then we stroll through the town. We hang out at the Olive Tree Cafe. We'll have a barbecue at the marina for lunch, with a magnificent view of the lake and mountains. This place is the starting point for some of the most beautiful hikes in NZ, including the Milford Track. The excursions to the fjords also start here. After lunch, we head south on the Scenic Highway. We make a stop in Tuatapere at Yesterdays Cafe, run by Helen, a lovely old lady who has turned the cafe into a museum with household items from her youth. We continue driving along the coast. Gorgeous beaches with high waves. We'll stay overnight at a FC in Colac Bay.
