Day 13-from Wesel to Nijmegen

Today we are going over the Rhine with a lot of push from behind towards Holland. Since we need both the PCR test and a current rapid test, our plan is to land in Emmerich shortly before the border. There is a docking station that has probably not been used for a long time, nature has reclaimed the steps to the quay, but we didn't need a machete. First order supplies, take a taxi to the clinic, hold out our noses and walk back. Before that, we enjoyed an ice cream sundae, yogurt for me, spaghetti ice cream for Michael, definitely not al dente. Then continue across the Rhine to the border, no controls until Nijmegen. Here we visited several ports and found a great place near the city. There was no harbor master, payment was made at a parking machine, brilliant idea. We enjoyed the sunny evening hours and didn't leave until 8:00 pm for dinner, outdoor dining was open, but only until 8:00 pm throughout Holland, which was surprising and frustrating for us. We briefly considered and decided to cook for ourselves. We had penne Bolognese and a good red wine. While watching the sunset from the boat, a wonderful end to the day.
