We have already decided in Ballangen that we want to visit Trondheim. We drive back on the E6 - the main construction site axis. Again, lots of excavators, wheel loaders, and hardworking construction workers. It takes almost 3 hours for about 200 km... it drags on...! We reach Trondheim in the afternoon and go straight to the Bamboo Shop. That's the only store in Norway (maybe you're lucky in Oslo too) where you can buy Slim Filters...! Since the Lofoten Islands, we've been using half of the camping guide as filters... We're glad that a small Asian person has opened a cigarette accessory store in Trondheim. Yes, yes... the Asians know the market gaps! After that, we drive to a camping site a bit outside the city, only to find out that it's already closed for the season. So we drive back to the other side of Trondheim and try another place. Everything is still open here and there's a free spot. The white Monty Python rabbit from the Lofoten Islands seems to have moved, or it's following us... it lives on the pitch next door... watch out!
We take a walk with the dog to the water, have some food, and then go to bed early again. It's pretty miserable outside, as usual.
The next morning, after breakfast, we head to the nearby bus stop to go to Trondheim. In Norwegian buses, you still buy a ticket from the bus driver, only cash! We still have exactly 120 NOK, which is exactly enough... lucky us. By the way, if you buy the ticket from the machine, it costs almost half... huh, you don't have to understand it... because not every bus stop has a machine!
We stroll around Trondheim, beautiful city, but full of students. Every sixth resident is a student at NTNU. Jörni and I fit in perfectly here...!
We pass by the Nidaros Cathedral, an impressive building, and decide to take a look inside. Jörni thinks his godmother Annette would be proud of him now, finally the young man is in a church...!
Also from the inside, it has fascinating architecture... they built some amazing things back in the day! They could learn a thing or two from the E6!
After two hours, we take a break, in the Irish Pub, where else in Norway. We each have two Murphys for a total of 640 NOK! But it was also drizzling outside, so what else can you do???
At around 5 pm, we make our way back to the bus, this time buying a ticket from the machine, and drive back to the campsite. We set up our small rain shelter by the bus, listen to music, and put a pizza in the camping oven! Good night Trondheim, it was great!
