Piha Beach - first arrive

Today we took it slow, we were all awake from 5:30 :D After an early morning shower you feel really good again.

Benny organized the camper and I went swinging with E on the playground. A really cool playground on our campsite, even for little ones.

We have met several other German travelers here and also many families.

In the afternoon, after our nap (now I'm finally not dizzy anymore and the ground is still again) we walked to the beach. The path was like going through a jungle.

When you arrive at Piha Beach you can immediately see the large Lion Rock rising up. The sea, high mountains, black sand - the sun has come out, real New Zealand holiday feeling. Taking off your shoes in the sand wasn't a good idea, it was hot. The Tasman lookout track was unfortunately closed, but at the back of the beach you also had a nice view ahead. We cooled our feet and then fled back from the strong wind with E in the stretcher.

Playground, dinner and an early bedtime for everyone. The road trip starts tomorrow.
