Here we go again. Just four weeks after my return, we are now starting as a family to Yerevan. There we want to explore Armenia together with the transporter and then continue to Georgia.
On Sunday, July 17, 2022, we will start from Dresden around noon and use the 9-euro ticket to Leipzig. It's not that great when you spend the whole time in the corridor of a regional express train... But well... At Leipzig airport we found out that our flight to Antalya is delayed by 1 hour and 10 minutes. Well, better than cancelled like for many other travelers these days...
Actually, we then flew to Antalya with a little delay. The flight was exhausting, not enough space on the seat, no good climate in the plane. But well.
Arriving in Antalya, we first had to pick up our suitcases, go through the security area with meticulous control, briefly leave the airport and then check in again and go through security again.
Unfortunately, it couldn't be booked any other way. It was a bit annoying with the second check-in, but it went quite well in the end.
During the second security check, the oldest was tested for explosives. Probably because she goes up quite easily? No, it was a joke...
I was a bit worried whether I would get special treatment, as I hadn't expressed myself particularly positively about Turkish customs during my last trip. But probably that's not unusual, it didn't lead to any special treatment.
Arriving in Yerevan on Monday morning at around 07:00 local time, we were meticulously recorded again. Afterwards, I recharged my Armenian SIM card. For a whopping 11 euros, I got a complete flat rate for one month again. It took two minutes at the phone shop right at the airport and it was done. Great story!
Then we ordered a taxi and drove to our favorite hotel. Once we arrived, we threw ourselves on the bed for a few hours, we were all exhausted after around 24 hours without real sleep.
In the afternoon, we took a taxi to the center of Yerevan. The thermometer showed 45°C, I hadn't seen that in a long time.
But if you drink a lot, it's fine. The many drinking fountains come in handy.
After a detour to the Cascades, we zigzagged through the center. After a cozy dinner in a courtyard restaurant and a little stroll, we drove back to the hotel.
Actually, everyone was still exhausted, off to bed...
