The next morning meant getting up early again. We were super tired because after diving we had to do some shopping (beer and snacks) and pack our things - because we will spend the next 4 days and 3 nights on a boat with about 25 other travelers. We were tired and running late, and then one of the beer cans in my bag burst, spilling all over my clothes and everything smelled like beer.
There were already mattresses lined up on the deck, and we quickly found two spots while the others were still downstairs. Our backpacks were stowed away, the guide, Piano, and the crew introduced themselves briefly, we had some snacks, and then we were off. The sun was scorching, we explored our new home, and soon we reached our first stop, Komodo Island, home to the Komodo dragons. We were taken to the island on a smaller boat and quickly saw the first Komodos. Komodos even eat their babies, as well as monkeys, deer, or wild boars. They can grow up to 3 meters long and have venomous teeth with which they kill their prey. After that, we headed to Pink Beach, a beach that shimmers pink. There, we could snorkel and swim. Before sunset, we visited another island with Komodo dragons. After dinner on the boat - rice, vegetables, peanut sauce, and beer - our first night on a moving boat began. We slept surprisingly well, and the next morning we were already awakened at half past 4 to see the sunrise on another island. After that, it was snorkeling, snorkeling, snorkeling. We saw a giiiiiant manta ray and sharks. In the evening, we passed by a smoking volcano that suddenly spewed lava when it was dark. It was really fascinating. The next night on the boat was a bit stormy, and it rocked quite a bit. I slept so deeply that I didn't notice anything. On the third day, we went to an island where we climbed a waterfall. Later, we went swimming again, and in the evening, we went to an island where we had a little farewell party with a bonfire, music, and beer. Because the next day, we arrived in Lombok at 9 o'clock in the morning. It was very funny, and our guide, Piano, made sure we had a great atmosphere. The entire crew was always in a great mood, so we had an unforgettable boat trip. While we can sleep and relax as much as we want the next day, the crew now has two hours of free time before the next boat tour from Lombok to Flores begins. While we slept on the mattresses, the crew slept on the floor or on the benches where we sat during meals - and only for 4 hours per night. We were impressed that they were still so cheerful and always friendly, even though they only had two hours of free time.
