5th day after Hochfügen

The tour today started with the cable car up to Spieljoch (1900m high). Down in Fügen it was still 16 degrees, but up there only 10 degrees. There we enjoyed the view of the surrounding mountains, with clouds in front of them. Beautiful!

Then we hiked a quite steep path. Very beautiful! Narrow, curvy, sometimes a bit of climbing was required. And always the view of the mountains covered in clouds! Dreamlike!

Every now and then we walked into clouds, but the first half of the hike was still dry. Along the way, there were occasional patches of snow. After about 2 hours, we reached Gartalm. There I had a disgusting cappuccino and a raspberry buttermilk.

Afterwards, we continued, up and down again. My knees only hurt a little, luckily! The narrow path led through forest and meadows, and once again past a farm where we thought we had lost our way. An electric fence blocked the path. Fortunately, a few guys came by who knew how to get through it!

In drizzling rain, we continued to Hochfügen, Hotel Bergzeit. Nice rooms, and enough time to relax for the next day.

The route was only 15 km long, but still challenging with 800 meters of elevation gain.
