4:00am, the alarm clock rings. Finally, finally the day has come. I have been planning and preparing for this long-held dream since January, both in theory and in practice. The first backpack, wrong choice. Not enough hip support, no back ventilation. Shoes without Gore Tex, no, better not. Which sleeping bag is the right one? And always focused on weight, because one thing is clear: it's 4 weeks and 20,000 meters of altitude. My desired weight would have been 8 kg, including everything. Unfortunately, it's a bit off target. 😏 It's 8.6 kg on my shoulder and the hip bag adds another 0.6 kg. But now it's just fine. From tomorrow on, we will see if it's okay like this. Since January, I have been running with this weight several times. In May, I hiked the first 2 stages of the Munich-Venice tour. I couldn't train the altitude, but I will just start running now, the rest will come naturally. Basta.
Farina will join me for the first two weekends. I'm very happy about that. We will meet in Bad Tölz at 5:00pm. Have a nice evening and tomorrow we'll head to the mountains.🌄
Lenny made a pendant for me with my name and phone number. So I don't get lost. Such a sweet idea. It's now hanging on my backpack.
The weather forecast predicted rain and possibly thunderstorms this morning, so I would have gotten wet if I had walked to the train station. Thanks for keeping me dry.
There are 3 things that are important to me:
Health, weather, and navigation.
Once again, a big thank you to you Burki for your acceptance and tolerance. I will think of you very often.
Arriving in Bad Tölz, I had to unpack my rain gear right away 😅 and arrived at the hotel slightly soaked.
