Ksawery
The Deutschlandfunk reported today that the danger from storm Xavier is over, the storm has now reached Poland. Oh great! By the way, it's called Ksawery here and I have to worry that everything goes well. It's fluttering outside.
So it's shitty weather in Warsaw. It's wet, cold, noisy, windy..
Let's see if there's something to see anyway, without me flying away..
Poland/Polonia/Polonium
The periodic table of elements from Marie Curie's laboratory:
There is a gap at atomic number 84 - not for long. The gap will be filled with the discovery of a new element by Marie Curie. She names the newly discovered, highly radioactive element Polonium, in reference to Polonia (Poland), her homeland. In 1911 she is awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for this.
The Curie Therapy
Marie Curie tries to use all her insights immediately for the benefit of humanity. She develops radiation therapy against cancer, the Curie Therapy:
