Hello my dear,
Sorry for not keeping in touch for a while, I immediately started traveling after my last exam and I had rarely good internet to upload pictures. Since the internet is decent here, I thought I would try my luck.
So, about 4 weeks ago (May 24th), I started in Hanoi. I met up with a German couple here through a travel buddy website and we've been traveling together since then. As I mentioned before, we started in Hanoi, but we didn't see much because we mainly chilled in the park and made plans for our travels. We then decided to go to Sapa, to the rice fields in northern Vietnam, and booked a tour.
We took a night bus to get there, which was amazing. Three rows with double beds, blankets, and water :D Apart from the driving style, it was a pleasant ride and we had to get used to all the honking (at least 3 times per minute). When we arrived in the morning, we had a delicious breakfast buffet and then waited for our guide to start our hike through the rice fields. Then a cute local girl in her traditional attire, who was even shorter than me, called Chew, arrived. We walked with a group of 5 people and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, it was still the 'wrong' time for the rice fields, as most of them were not yet planted, but it was still very impressive. It seemed like it had rained in the days before, so the path was extremely muddy and one person after another from the group ahead of us slipped :D
Anyway, it was really beautiful (see photo). We got another workout, delicious food, and a short hike the next day, and then we headed back to Hanoi. ;)
