So even though Hoi An was already really beautiful, a real highlight of our Vietnam trip came after Nha Trang. Again on recommendation, we booked a canyoning tour in Dalat and I was almost scared to death because I didn't really know what to expect, but it was clear that we had to abseil, march through the jungle, and jump off cliffs. But it was really awesome and afterwards I was really proud of myself for having done everything and even dared to do the 11m jump.
So before the tour started, we got all the equipment - wetsuit, helmet, harness, life jacket, and gloves. Then there was a really long briefing where we also practiced abseiling, but it was nothing compared to the actual 'cliff' we had to go down afterwards. Then the first group photos were taken and off we went to the first abseiling spot. At first I was really scared, but once you're hanging there it's just really fun and it's over way too quickly. After the first spot, there was a short stop at a waterfall and then we continued to the next spot. There was another abseiling and lunch. Next came the slide where you slid headfirst down the 'waterfall'. It was really fun except for the nose rinse and we were allowed to go a second time. Spot 4 was the jump. First, we tested at 7 meters how people are doing and then you could decide whether to jump another 7m, 9m or the 11m. I chose the 11m and as I mentioned before, I was really proud of myself :D Finally, there was a really cool abseiling spot where you were lowered into a waterfall and then it was unfortunately over.
So I was really impressed with the tour and that's why I got a bit carried away with the pictures here, because I couldn't decide which ones to upload. So now you can see almost all of them :D
A few more are from the town of Dalat, but we just wandered around a bit to find something to eat ;)
