Although we were not quite sure until the end whether we would find our connecting bus in Santo Domingo and how everything would go, we arrived safely in Las Terrenas!
Unfortunately, you travel here in the bus with drawn curtains, so we only see very little of the landscape...
Las Terrenas is probably one of the most beautiful areas in the Dominican Republic, we have now completely arrived in the Caribbean paradise!
The colors of the sea are indescribable and we are relieved that after a year of world travel we are not yet immune to its beauty!
Our room is perfect, there is only a beautiful garden between us and the sea. It's a great place to stay!
In the garden, we also meet an extremely cute kitten - and at the end we can't bear to leave it behind!
Las Terrenas is an incredibly noisy city - all motorcycles (and there are many) make excessive noise. A highly sensitive Katha (fortunately this diagnosis now explains a lot) can only navigate the streets with their ears covered!
Since taxi rides are disproportionately expensive, we walk the 5 kilometers to Playa Bonita...
To shorten the way back along the road and in the heat, we make our way through the jungle. According to Google Maps, a good idea - but we are devoured by mosquitoes, almost get stuck in the swamp several times, and leave the jungle after an hour at the same place where we started. We can walk in circles!
Finally, 3 quick questions for Ronny:
1. What will you miss after the trip? - 'Writing and putting together travel diaries, exploring supermarkets, walking barefoot, making new little animal friends, no appointments and easily getting drunk!'
2. What won't you miss? - 'Mosquitoes, cockroaches or sand fleas, packing up all our stuff every 3 to 4 days, missing price tags or bus schedules!'
3. What are you most looking forward to? - 'Friends and family, Franconian beer, the USG (a student association), my first kebab after a year, hair care products!'
