We are finally in Norway.
To our surprise, we crossed the border without any complications. And we already had the first beautiful pitch at Oslo Canal. You were allowed to stay for free for 24 hours in a small harbor with a bathing area. Just in front of us, the ferries passed by. Cruise ships also pass by there. Unfortunately, there were none on that day.
After spending another night at a museum and seeing the remains of an old defense castle, including well-preserved cannons, we continued to Oslo.
Oslo is big, very big, with great old and new buildings. One could think that all the architects in the country want to leave their personal work there. Big buildings, small buildings, crooked buildings, historical buildings, buildings that you can climb. Saunas in the middle of the harbor, a fortress, the princess palace, and who knows what else we haven't seen yet.
Our personal highlight was the virtual Viking Museum. Here you can display everything digitally. The virtual naval battle was really exciting. While sitting in chairs and wearing VR glasses, you experience the naval battle almost live as a member of the crew.
Unfortunately, the maritime museum in Oslo had just closed and will remain closed until the end of 2026. Extensive renovations are taking place there.
