After a long flight with a layover in Dubai, we arrived in Hanoi feeling completely exhausted.
It's 35 degrees here, but feels like 42 degrees, and you're already drenched in sweat after just 2 steps.
Our hotel is right in the old town, supposedly in an 'excellent location' according to booking, but they fail to mention that these narrow alleyways feel like they have 100 motorbike riders per square meter, making it very chaotic and crowded.
Nevertheless, we dove right into the chaos and on our first evening, we stumbled upon a hidden gem: the restaurant of former street child William, where we had the best spring rolls of our lives.
After almost 16 hours of sleep, today was all about exploring the city. Since it's unbelievably hot, we decided to do a tour on the Hop On Hop Off bus, which forced us to wear traditional hats and made us look like real tourists... luckily, no one here knows us...
Dinner was enjoyed on tiny plastic stools by the roadside, just like elementary school kids. Since there's no European cutlery here, we had to learn how to eat with chopsticks, which earned us applause from the waiters and an Instagram post from our underage neighbors at the table.
Let's see what tomorrow brings...
