On Monday 01.05. we drove from Santa Barbara on Route No. 1 to Los Angeles.

On the way to the City of Angels, we zoomed past beautiful coastal sections and bays. We also observed some surfers riding the waves.

After passing Malibu and Santa Monica, we drove to our apartment in West Hollywood, which we had booked through Air BnB.

Still on the same evening, we visited the famous Santa Monica Pier, where the end of Route 66 is located.

The next day, we decided to go to Hollywood and see the Walk of Fame. The famous stars can be found on the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard. On TV, they seem very glamorous and big, but unfortunately, the reality was a bit dirty. Nevertheless, the Walk of Fame is a must on every bucket list.

Around noon, we took a bus tour with the red double-decker Hop-On-Hop-Off buses, which drove us through LA. We cruised through Baverly Hills, the Financial District, Downtown, ChinaTown, Littel Japan, Santa Monica, and Hollywood, and learned fascinating details about the areas and their famous residents. :-)

On Wednesday, we visited Universal Studios and spent an exciting day in the land of filmmakers. We were prepared for long queues in the morning... but... NO!!... we were lucky again! We never had to wait longer than 20 minutes for the rides and attractions, so we were able to experience everything from the Studio Tour to the roller coasters and shows. One of the best rides was Jurassic Park, a water ride! Our travel companion (name known to the editorial staff) absolutely did not want to get wet, so he was allowed to sit in the middle... well unfortunately, he did not stay dry, shortly before the end of the ride, we zoomed down the slide and water poured in from all sides. We were not just wet, we were soaked and our hair was dripping as if we had just taken a shower! :-)

On Thursday, we went sightseeing by car. We visited the Hollywood Sign, Beverly Hills, and Venice Beach. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best at Venice Beach and there was a cold Pacific wind blowing. In the evening, we enjoyed a great dinner at the BubbaGump restaurant on Santa Monica Pier. At this place, Forrest Gump took a short moment to stop running at the end of the movie, before turning around and continuing to run.

The impressions of Los Angeles are huge. LA is a huge city and does not have a center per se. You cannot capture this city in photos, you have to experience it!

On Friday, we continued to Las Vegas via Death Valley.
