1st Stop: Algonquin Park

The road trip has started and the first two days are already over. The first stop was in Algonquin Park with 2 days of hiking and both hikes were 15km each, so a bit strenuous for a beginner, but definitely cool! Unfortunately we didn't see any animals, but we definitely saw that they live in the parks. The first hike was at Mizy Lake and the second was the Centennial Route. Both had beautiful lakes and nature to offer. On the first day we found moose feces, which at least showed us that moose live there 😂🫎 On the second day we saw several beaver dams and a beaver nest, but unfortunately the beavers were slow to show up... maybe we'll get lucky again. Not so good news: it remains a bit slippery, which is why 5/7 people fell at least once (not Matthias & I 😎)

I was more or less responsible for the food here and made homemade pizza on the first day and rice noodles with a vegetable sauce on the second day. It's a different thing to cook for 7 people, but it's always fun :)

Our airbnb was also located by a nice little lake and while I went to bed at 9 on the first day, we sat by the lake in the evening on the second day with a glass of wine and watched the stars. That was very nice because the stars are more clearly visible here than in Cologne haha 😂 and in general the view of the lake was really nice and we even had a little fireplace 😍

All in all, a successful start to the road trip. In that sense: Happy Easter 🐣🐰
