Another highlight followed when we met up with our friends from Berlin, Teresa, Vincent, Kathi, and Niko, a bit further south at the 'Sofas' campsite. It is also a beautiful campsite nestled among terraced olive groves leading to the beach. A cozy tavern with delicious food and the relaxed chef Zacharias, who had everything under control, made the experience perfect.
After settling in peacefully, we enjoyed the beach right at the campsite. The next day, we went to another beautiful bay called 'Mega Amnos Beach'. The beaches are stony and sandy, but the water has a perfect color.
The men were influenced by the children (or was it the other way around?) and got very enthusiastic about fishing. The children were jumping around with their nets and caught small fish (not all survived...), while the adults approached it more professionally with the right equipment, preparation, and bait considerations. However, the boys were more successful than their fathers, which was probably due to the not-so-perfect gear ;-))
Another highlight was our trip to the dream beach, Alonaki, with a lunch stop in the picturesque town of Parga. It's a picture-perfect bay with clear water, a wild environment, and a small beach bar. For me, it is one of the best beaches I have been to in Europe so far. We spent the night in the beach parking lot, surrounded by fireflies, so the next day we could enjoy the bay almost alone.
We really enjoyed these days with our friends, having good conversations, enjoying good food, and lots of fun and games for the children. They will continue their journey to Crete. We wish them many exciting and beautiful experiences and we are curious if our paths will cross again.
