11th and 12th February 2020
As always, the day started early. I was picked up at 05:15 am, and we took a 10-hour boat ride from Bagan to Mandalay. I had a slightly elevated temperature, so I mostly stayed inside instead of enjoying the deck. Rest was more important to me at that moment. My hostel in Mandalay even had two computers where I could continue writing this blog with less effort.
The next day, I walked around the city a lot. For example, I went to the Mandalay Hill. I wasn't sure if I had chosen the right entrance. I climbed many stairs and then it seemed to end. Finally, I decided to get a ride up the hill. From there, I could walk down the stairs later, and I ended up where I thought the stairs would end. It was a bit funny, I just had to walk a little further and then I would have actually been at the top and could have saved the ride.
I visited another temple and then I had enough for the day, and I went back to the hostel. I had actually planned more things for the day, but why stress myself to see so much in one day? I had the dilemma of using time efficiently and taking things slowly to enjoy more. I had to find a balance.
