After a good night's sleep, I set off on my walk through Florence. First, a cappuccino and croissant at the cafe around the corner.
Today, I tried to go where it seemed least like a tourist attraction. Which is really difficult in this city. By noon, I was at Torrino di Santa Rosa. It looked like a very simple cafe. When I asked if I could also have something to eat, I was shown the plain dining room. There were a few people sitting there, and I was led to a table. The waiter explained the daily specials to me, and it turned out he is half from Kassel and half from Rome, or his parents are. Anyway, I had a generous portion of penne with tomato and ham sauce, a glass of local wine, and a cappuccino at the end. Strengthened, I took a midday break. After thinking that I had thoroughly tested everything at home, I had to realize that the compass in my phone cannot be calibrated. All attempts and internet tips failed. Should I still venture into the mountains like this?
Anyway, I slowed down my pace again and leisurely searched for a gelato while also finding a restaurant for my dinner.
During a stop at my accommodation, I realized that I had company in my nice room. A few sleeping Asians. After a break with my book in the monastery garden, I went to have dinner. The friendly host explained in great detail what was available, but I'm not exactly sure what I ended up eating. But it was very delicious!
