Ho Chi Minh - Vietnam 🇻🇳

My last stop in Vietnam after exactly 3 weeks, so probably the most chaotic at the end - Ho Chi Minh. I have never seen so many motorcycles at an intersection or on a street. But I have seen more than a few motorcycles in Asia in the last few months. This time we didn't take the night bus but, for once, we took the bus during the day. After our bus was canceled in the morning, we booked the VIP for lunch. A whole cabin with more space than necessary just for me, a dream. After a long 8 hour bus ride we finally arrived. The air here was also much hotter than in Da Lat recently, definitely a bit too warm for me too. At 8 in the evening it's still 30 degrees is just too much. After checking in we went straight to the famous Walking Street to get something to eat. Although you have to say it was quite a lot there at once. In every bar there is different music right next to each other and all at full volume, crowded with tourists, with every step you are offered something, but it is always the same with different prices, you don't even know where to look or listen first. But I soon went to bed as my next day started quite early. We went to the Cu Chi Tunnels, which remained from the Vietnam War, about 2 hours by bus outside of Ho Chi Minh. We were able to take a really close look at everything there, including trying out the firearms. We saw traps like they were built at that time and also how the tunnels were ventilated. At the end we were able to crawl 100m through the tunnels ourselves. I have to say it was pretty tight down there. It was a case of going through on all four, but it was still pretty tight. After lunch we went back to the hostel. The afternoon was then spent sightseeing in the city itself. The post office, the pink church and, in my opinion, the rich part of the city with the high-rise buildings, the opera and the expensive hotels and brands. Since it was a bit too expensive for us, we ended up back on Walking Street. This is how we really ended my stay in Vietnam. The next morning I just packed my backpack again, had one last egg coffee to finish it off and then off to the airport.

Vietnam was once again a country that surprised me every day. Also a country for me where one visit is definitely not enough, especially because the weather wasn't really good for me in the north. A country where strangers became friends! A country that has many different facets to offer and there is something for every type of vacation or trip. On the one hand, in the north there are the Alps, which are quite impressive and also very inviting for hiking. Unfortunately, I was pretty unlucky with the weather here and wasn't able to enjoy the full splendor of the Alps. The further south you go, the warmer it gets and on the one hand you have the sea with turquoise sea and light sand on the islands and well-known diving locations on the mainland. And in Ho Chi Minh there is also a district with the most modern high-rise buildings and lights everywhere. So yeah, Vietnam really impressed me and I’ll definitely be back! 🫶🏼
