Smoke Ahead

Today after a leisurely breakfast we set off towards the Rocky Mountains. We will be spending the next few days in Edson and from there we will explore Jasper National Park.

I suspect that the German news will also report on the devastating wildfires in British Columbia :-(... we have already left the area in the past week and are hoping that the fires will be brought under control soon.

The smoke from the fires is so extensive that we already had the impression of driving into a wall of fog shortly after Edmonton. The 'haze' in the pictures is therefore not bad weather but simply smoke, which is moving from British Columbia towards Alberta over the Rockies...

Unfortunately, the truly impressive mountain landscape does not come across properly.
