1.10. St. Lawrence - wet from above and below

Გამოქვეყნდა: 02.10.2019

We wake up to the predicted chilly 5 degrees. Until breakfast, we postpone the decision for or against whale watching in Tadoussac. Finally, the three of us make our way to the Zodiac and are equipped with warm overalls. With our already layered clothing underneath, we feel like big whales ourselves.

With other adventurous people, we head out on the inflatable boat for 2.5 hours. We speed across rough water, with wind and rain in our faces and the waves crashing from the side. After what feels like an eternity, we reach the playground of the whales and are compensated for all the inconveniences. We see humpback whales, fin whales, and minke whales. Some very close, some even jumping. Taking photos is almost impossible with the rough sea.

After a hot meal, we make our way to Quebec. It's lightly raining and fog is sweeping over the lakes and forests.

Our beautiful large vacation house is located in the green above Quebec with a great view of the surrounding mountains. Due to the weather, we will only use the grill and hot tub tomorrow.
