Despite having a road in front of the window, we slept well. But that was probably because we were tired. After a good breakfast and after tightening all the important screws after yesterday's bumpy ride over stock and stone, we headed left along the Elbe towards Havelberg.
Today we were determined not to take any shortcuts anymore, but to stay consistently on the Elbe Cycle Path.
Until Arneburg it was slowly but steadily uphill and we only saw the Elbe occasionally in the valley.
From Arneburg we continued to Werben. In a very nice inn, we and our batteries took a lunch break. We had a cool shandy and matjes with fried potatoes and the batteries got some power.
Refreshed and full of energy, we decided to continue cycling to Wittenberge.
At some point we overlooked the symbol of the Elbe Cycle Path again and followed a country road. Fortunately, Mathias always has a good sense of direction and so we found our way back to the Elbe Cycle Path just before Wittenberge.
During a brief discussion about where to go next, we were approached by a nice couple who not only showed us a short way to Wittenberge, but also kindly accompanied us to the "Zur Möve" guesthouse.
There was still a double room available here and we had reached our daily goal after 74 km.
Of course, we visited the old town, enjoyed delicious ice cream, and enjoyed a huge piece of Black Forest cake.
Today we covered a lot of kilometers and were already at the destination by 3 pm.
From our room, we have a fantastic view of the Elbe and the Elbe Cycle Path continues right in front of our guesthouse tomorrow.
