1. Etappe Saint-Jean-De-Pied near Roncesvalles

Გამოქვეყნდა: 30.10.2023

The beginning was tough because it started with a steep incline. Luckily it was dry and only windy all day. I had taken off my jacket and so I walked around in my rain cape all day. The path was very beautiful. Met almost no one except a few horses, cows and sheep. After almost halfway I met a few pilgrims, but that was probably because I started relatively late. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The view and peace were overwhelming and all the climbs were definitely worth it. Two things made my mood a little worse: first I got stuck on a fence and tore open my cape (luckily it's on the edge) and then my shoe sank completely into the mud and at that moment I thought I was complaining straight away, but was still able to catch me. But these are comparatively harmless things that I don't want to ruin my mood anymore. It wasn't until the end that I reached my physical limit, but that's exactly where I got there. Although it is usually the case that when you know that the goal is not far away, your body automatically slows down.

Officially this stage is 25km and it took me almost 5 hours.
