Some color for the apartment

It is already December, incredibly how time flies. You have to get used to the fact that everything takes its time here until something is done. In Germany, people are relatively impatient. It's not like that here.

I haven't really arrived here yet and I actually wish I had a little more time. Time that doesn't go by so quickly.

There is a lot new to discover and you always feel like you haven't seen everything. Each day brings a new surprise. Whether good or bad.

On Tuesday, 06.12.2016, I will go to the METRO with Daniela to buy some Christmas decorations. I bought a small Christmas tree, ornaments for the tree, Santa Claus socks, some sweets, window decorations, and a coffee machine at METRO.

Once I get home, I start setting up the tree and hanging up the Christmas decorations. Now we have a bit of Christmas here, just like at home in Steinheim.

On Thursday, 08.12.2016, Daniela calls me spontaneously to ask if I want to go to the beach with her. I accept the offer and she picks me up by car. The day is very beautiful and warm. It's only 09:30, but you can already tell that it will get very hot later.

We take a walk and take some photos along the way. Daniela is just as enthusiastic about photography as I am, so it fits well.

Later we go to "Holly's Coffee" to eat something and have coffee. Holly's is a very cozy coffee shop where you can spend some time exchanging news over a cup of coffee.

Since it is very hot outside at noon, we sit in the air-conditioned interior to eat and drink something.

After eating, we make our way home.

Since I like to renovate things in and around the house from time to time, I have decided to paint our dining room wall in color. I went to the hardware store with Daniela and chose the right color. We decided on a dark red.

When the paint was mixed in the bucket, I wasn't sure anymore if it would really fit. To check, I should take a look in the bucket. Oh my goodness, that's definitely not the color I wanted.

Now it's mixed and I guess I'll buy it.

Back home, I'm really curious how it will look. First, I paint the edges after taping off all the important areas. On Wednesday, 14.12.2016, I start painting the walls.

After finishing painting the edges, I am already convinced that it will look very good in the end. However, I have to paint 4 times until I achieve the desired color tone without visible transitions. It wasn't done as quickly as I thought.

When I finally finish after 2 days, I really like the result. My husband also likes the color.

Now it's enough with the renovation work for a while. Our apartment already looks quite cozy.
