Today I slept until half past nine and Daniela until 10:20 am. Just amazing :-)! But Daniela made Ford Nox from our accommodation yesterday. The construction she used to secure us was quite impressive :-)! And we have the best watchdog ever (Littlefoot) :-)!
When we wanted to leave today, Daniela discovered a huge dog on our property. I could see that it was a male, which is always good for Littlefoot :-)! Armed with treats from Littlefoot, I went out. But he was nowhere to be seen. I was already scared. Daniela stood on the rooftop terrace and I said, it's like in Africa. Somewhere there's a lion and you don't know where... laugh. Then he came out of a bush towards me. He wagged his tail. A very good sign. He also sat down right away and I gave him the treats. Immediately afterwards, he lay down in front of my feet and wanted to be petted. Okay - Simba the Lionking - that's what I named him, he was sweet! He also gets along great with Littlefoot!
Around noon we drove to a nearby national park. The landscape was gigantic. We drove up and down countless curves for miles. In between, we had many opportunities to stop and enjoy the impressive landscape, and also take photos. At one point, we could see a small waterfall. We walked there and on the way we were attacked by so many flies, unbelievable. Despite mosquito spray, they kept flying around us - annoying -. The waterfall and the flow of water were very beautiful. I took off my shoes and stepped into the cool water. It was like a refreshing bath. The water was incredibly cold and my toes started to cramp...ouch! Littlefoot is not such a wimp like me, she didn't want to leave at all :-)! After cooling off, we continued driving through the national park for hours. I was so grateful that not a single car was coming our way. You can really say that this is a hidden gem. When you consider how we were chased by cars through the Verdon Gorge in France, here you can simply stop on the road to enjoy the landscape. We were probably the only tourists in this beautiful national park.
Tomorrow this will change again, because Saragossa is on the agenda!!!!
Best regards from the three of us :-)
