Cameron Highlands - Tea Time

Გამოქვეყნდა: 12.07.2017

Yes - in Malaysia we once again retreated to the colder and much higher areas of the Cameron Highlands. The small village of Tanah Ratah is located at an altitude of about 1400m and is home to most of the tourists. So we were not cut off from the rest of the world (yes, there is even a Starbucks here). We used our travel day to scout out the situation and find out the best places to go and when.

Hiking was once again on the agenda. This time up Gunung Brinchang 2044m and back to the village. Along the way, we were able to gather beautiful impressions of the tea plantations and look forward to the guided tour the next day. Unfortunately, we didn't quite manage the desired running time of 2 ½ hours there and back, but after 2 hours of net running time, we finally made it to the top and could enjoy the view. Fortunately, on the way back, we were picked up by a nice driver and taken to the tea factory. It wasn't planned for today, but it was still good. You can definitely treat yourself to the cake-tea combination for 2 days as well.

And that's exactly what we did. The next day, we had the tea factory mentioned above, as well as the lavender farm, butterfly farm, honeybee farm, strawberry farm, the rose garden, and the Sam-Poh Temple on our list. Not every destination was a highlight, but it was definitely an entertaining trip. The final piece of cake at Lords Café and the occasional naan (a type of flatbread) at our 3-day regular pub provided a nice ending before the journey into the deep jungle the next day.
