Day 10
Erdinger Eller-Beilstein campsite Happy Holiday
Up early, I went to the Russian bakery in foggy 9 degrees. Of course the visibility is crappy at this time of day. But then run for the sake of running. Then you just can't lie down anymore. So I walked all alone for the first two hours
Near Nehren there was a Roman grave complex up in the vineyards. It dates from the 3rd and 4th centuries. century AD. In the highly secured burial chamber you can see the best-preserved vault paintings north of the Alps. I didn't see much. Light fell on the double-glazed pane and the light that was supposed to turn on the burial chamber was unfortunately broken.
It's always nice that it never gets boring along the way. Every village makes an effort to make it nice along the way. Today there were sculptures and wise sayings on stone tablets. I particularly liked the stony Kopp von Mesenich.
I ended up in the Sleeping Beauty of the Moselle. Beilstein is very beautiful and therefore unfortunately also very touristy. But I managed well with people today. Coming out of the forest, past the castle, I went to the historic market square, ate a salad and, of course, drank a Riesling.
My campsite is again super beautiful with a view of the Moselle, Beilstein and the castle. Thanks.
