For us, it is still inconceivable. The first time at the end of the world. Some of you may have already experienced it, but in retrospect, it is still something special for us. 3 days (flight time 24 h) on the way, from Germany to Abu Dhabi, from Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong, from Hong Kong to Auckland. A change of culture in a very short time. Arabic, Chinese, and English impressions, initially German tourists, then Arab business travelers, and finally Chinese tourists mixed with German backpackers. Very multicultural and interesting.
The flights were exhausting! We tried to outsmart the jet lag and go straight to work after arriving on 3.11. in the morning. We spent 2 days racing through Auckland, organizing camping supplies, phone cards, groceries, and an emergency transmitter. The body responds with incomprehension and mixes sleep disturbances and phases of exhaustion into our super plan. But now we are on our way to our starting point and tomorrow we will fly to the northernmost point of New Zealand by small plane and start the hike.
The backpacks are heavy with food. We beginners will probably have to optimize here😉!
On the topic of food and one of our photos, here is a joke:
"The woman comes home and brings her husband 42 Snickers. The husband says - Sweetheart, not 42 Snickers, but Sneakers in size 42 should you bring!"😂
Hilarious😂😂😂
Warm greetings, until next time. Susi and Andreas
